Rohde & Schwarz, a global provider of electronic test equipment and broadcasting solutions, needed a user interface development toolkit for its THU9 TV transmitter series that could deliver an intuitive, cost-efficient experience with the flexibility and infrastructure required for a high-end broadcasting platform. The challenge was to create a reliable, easy-to-integrate UI framework for a complex transmitter menu with high-fidelity graphics and diverse controls.

DiSTI’s GL Studio was selected to build the interface, offering automatic Java code generation, strong OpenGL runtime performance, and a WYSIWYG editor. Using DiSTI’s GL Studio, Rohde & Schwarz created an easy-to-use, informative, and flexible transmitter UI with interactive controls and high-fidelity graphics that improved usability and integration, though the case study did not cite specific quantitative metrics.
