Case Study: FACH modernizes maintenance training with DiSTI VE Studio

How the Chilean Air Force Developed A Virtual Maintenance Training Solution for their Fleet of Bell 412 Helicopters

FACH, the Fuerza Aérea de Chile (Chilean Air Force), needed a faster, lower-cost way to train technicians on Bell 412 helicopter maintenance while keeping training current and reducing reliance on expensive physical hardware. Working with DiSTI, they set out to build a virtual maintenance training (VMT) solution in-house within 12 months using commercial technology.

DiSTI provided VE Studio, along with certification and professional services, to help FACH create the virtual training environment from procedure manuals and 3D models. The project cut the planned schedule from 18 months to 9 months, reduced costs through less use of physical hardware, and certified FACH’s team to develop future virtual training content; the case study also reports overall savings of 50% versus manual processes.
