Boeing upgrades F/A-18 maintenance training with DiSTI, simulating over 400 procedures

Boeing Defense, Space & Security was contracted to upgrade the U.S. Navy F-18E maintenance trainers by reusing content and adding new configurations. To create the Student Aircraft Interface Trainer Station (SAITS), Boeing selected DiSTI's next generation 3D virtual maintenance training development solution, VE Studio.

DiSTI implemented a fully interactive 3D maintenance trainer that allows military personnel to navigate an immersive virtual environment and perform over 400 simulated aircraft maintenance procedures. The solution used CAD data and the actual aircraft software to achieve high physical and functional fidelity. DiSTI's performance on this contract earned a Boeing Atlas Award Nomination for outstanding team achievement.
