Aero Simulation builds realistic HC-144A training with DiSTI, cutting fleet sacrifice by over 25%

The U.S. Coast Guard faced the challenge of having to sacrifice over a quarter of its HC-144A Ocean Sentry aircraft fleet for training, preventing them from being mission-ready. To address this, customer Aero Simulation was tasked with creating training devices and utilized the vendor DiSTI's GL Studio software as a key component of their solution.

Aero Simulation used DiSTI's GL Studio to create the Reconfigurable Flight Training Device's virtual cockpit and instructor station. This provided an ultra-realistic training environment, allowing the Coast Guard to conduct most training in simulators instead of actual aircraft. The solution delivered high-fidelity instrumentation, reduced training time and cost through component reuse, and prepared students for real-life situations with exceptional realism.
