How Pivot Interactives Helped Create a Community of Science Enthusiasts

Westside Community Schools, a district in Omaha, Nebraska, needed to create more engaging and effective science classes, particularly for a diverse body of students for whom physics is a graduation requirement. Their challenge was to move beyond traditional textbook labs and provide tools that could demonstrate complex topics while supporting both advanced and reluctant learners. They partnered with Discovery Education and implemented its product, Pivot Interactives.

The solution from Discovery Education provided a library of interactive video-based labs that allowed for detailed analysis and graphing. This gave teachers a wider variety of tools for demonstrations and saved valuable class time. The results were highly engaged students, including many who developed a new interest in STEM, and increased adoption of the tool across other science departments like chemistry and biology.
