Waterford Graded School District boosts reading by 3.2 levels with Discovery Education

Waterford Graded School District sought to close achievement gaps and accelerate academic growth in reading for its students. To meet this challenge, the district partnered with Discovery Education and implemented its Reading Plus solution (also referenced as DreamBox Reading) as a key intervention and enrichment tool.

Discovery Education's Reading Plus program provided an adaptive literacy solution that personalized instruction based on individual student reading data. The results were significant: students who completed the recommended 80+ lessons in the 2021-22 school year averaged a gain of 3.2 reading levels, with those completing 100+ lessons averaging a 4.0 level gain. Waterford educators also highlighted the ongoing professional development and support from Discovery Education as crucial to their successful implementation and student outcomes.
