Verona Area School District builds cross-curricular learning for 5,700+ students with Discovery Education

Verona Area School District sought innovative ways to engage students beyond the classroom and to build community and leadership skills. They turned to Discovery Education, utilizing the Discovery Education Experience platform and its Virtual Field Trips to address this challenge.

Discovery Education's solution centered on collaborative, cross-grade Virtual Field Trip experiences designed with the help of an Educational Technology Coach. These interactive activities, like those based on the NFL Play 60 trip, empowered high school students to lead lessons for younger peers, strengthening community ties and leadership. The results included highly praised learning experiences, with one teacher calling a cross-grade collaboration the greatest learning she had facilitated, and the program has grown to plan 10-20 events annually.
