Blizzard Entertainment, a major video game developer, sought to promote the first expansion for Diablo IV and re-engage current players, win back lapsed ones, and attract new fans to the franchise. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Discord and utilized its Play Quests advertising product.
Discord implemented a streaming Quest that required players to stream Diablo IV for 15 minutes to a friend on the platform to unlock an in-game reward. This solution was highly successful, attracting over 700,000 participants. The campaign, run by Discord, resulted in a 365% increase in player count and an 800% increase in total playtime hours during the launch week.
