A DISCO Case Study
Watson Farley & Williams, an international law firm, was asked on short notice to manage a complex, multi‑jurisdictional disclosure exercise in a multi‑billion pound English High Court dispute. The matter involved about 1.1 million documents across Europe, Asia and the US, 76 discrete disclosure issues spanning four years, and a very tight timetable, so WFW chose DISCO’s AI‑assisted edisclosure platform and expert services to accelerate review, maintain accuracy, and contain costs.
Working with DISCO, WFW received bespoke training for 18 reviewers and implemented a five‑phase, AI‑trained review approach. Using DISCO’s tools and a statistically significant pre‑review sample, they identified ~41,265 predicted responsive documents, reviewed ~85,000 documents (34% of the review pool) and tagged 40,978 relevant items (over 99% of the predicted set), having reviewed just 8% of the initial 1.1M collection. The exercise was completed in under two months, delivered >99% recall, eliminated upload fees (£0 vs ~£30k competitor charge), reduced reviewer headcount/time, and provided transparent flat‑rate pricing — all powered by DISCO’s platform.
