A Direxyon Case Study
The City of Montreal worked with Direxyon to better understand and manage a large infrastructure maintenance deficit across its water mains, sewers, roads, and sidewalks. Facing aging assets, rising deterioration, and the need to choose the most cost-effective renewal strategies, the city needed a better way to assess lifecycle costs, service levels, and long-term investment needs than Excel or deterministic planning tools.
Direxyon implemented a no-code, asset-centric modeling platform that digitized expert knowledge, modeled asset deterioration and criticality, and incorporated interdependencies, constraints, and synchronization rules across the network. The solution helped the City of Montreal reduce lifecycle costs and annual investment needs while maintaining service levels, quantify budget impacts over the short, medium, and long term, and support better intervention planning, with cited savings of 30% to 50% through targeted proactive maintenance.
