Leading Consumer Goods Manufacturer, a global consumer health company operating in more than 60 countries and spending over $15M annually on travel, needed help driving best-in-class performance across its travel program. Direct Travel was brought in to improve cost savings, cost avoidance, and the traveler experience, while also addressing underused SAP Concur Travel booking tools and heavy air spend.
Direct Travel implemented training to increase SAP Concur Travel adoption, negotiated multi-national and global air agreements, and used its savings desk to improve rates on additional city pairs, while also running car, limo, and hotel RFPs. The result was more than $1.8M in savings across 75% of travel volume, plus another $50,000 on out-of-contract city pairs, over $1.2M in Virgin savings, $80,000 in car savings, and a rise in online booking adoption from 27% to 56%, generating over $130,000 in additional savings.
