Main Line Health, a healthcare system in Pennsylvania, faced a challenge where physicians were circumventing their EMR's CPOE guidelines to order older, less effective sliding scale insulin therapies instead of the recommended basal-bolus regimens. To address this, they turned to Dimensional Insight and its Diver Platform to gain clinical intelligence on physician ordering patterns and their impact on patient care.

Using the Diver Platform, Dimensional Insight helped create Endocrinology Analytics dashboards that integrated and modeled complex clinical data. This solution analyzed insulin ordering trends, correlated regimens with patient outcomes, and identified physicians for targeted education. The results included better glucose management, a shorter length of stay for patients on the newer regimens, and the ability to provide physicians with direct, data-driven feedback.
