Kansas City Resident unveils a 700-pound river sculpture with Dimensional Innovations

The customer, a Kansas City resident, sought to commission a sculpture to enhance his residence and pay homage to its geographical location. He engaged vendor Dimensional Innovations to bring this artistic vision to life, requiring a unique piece that could withstand outdoor elements.

Dimensional Innovations utilized parametric modeling to design an algorithm predicting the Missouri River's evolution over time. The sculpture, named Meander, was then 3D printed in 180 layers using a large-scale additive manufacturing machine. The final piece is a 700-pound, 14-foot-long installation with a custom LED lighting interface. Dimensional Innovations created a durable, dynamic artwork that visually represents the river's changing path.
