Case Study: Flint Hills Discovery Center engages children with Prairie Playscape by Dimensional Innovations

Flint Hills Discovery Center wins AGC Award of Honor with Dimensional Innovations

The Flint Hills Discovery Center aimed to transform its second-floor children's mezzanine into an exciting, hands-on educational experience that would inspire young learners to celebrate and protect the tallgrass prairie. To achieve this, the center engaged vendor Dimensional Innovations (DI) along with several partner firms to design and create the new play area.

Dimensional Innovations implemented the Prairie Playscape, which features three themed areas with interactive exhibits including a textured tunnel, a wind tunnel activation, digital interactives, and a memorable cattle digestive system demonstration. This solution successfully created a colorful and educational exhibition where children learn through play. As a result of the project, the Flint Hills Discovery Center's Prairie Playscape was granted the Award of Honor from the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kansas.
