City of Gainesville, Georgia unveils 17-foot dragon landmark with Dimensional Innovations

The City of Gainesville, Georgia, sought a public art piece to serve as a visual anchor for its community and celebrate its 30-year tradition of hosting the Dragon Boat Festival. The city's challenge was to create a bold, interactive, and meaningful installation that would beautify downtown and draw year-round visitors. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Dimensional Innovations for placemaking, theming, and immersive technology services.

Dimensional Innovations crafted a 17-foot-tall dragon sculpture with a 24-foot body, constructed from metal and foam. The solution included immersive technology such as glowing eyes, roaring sound effects, and smoke-breathing nostrils to create an engaging experience for passersby. Positioned in the heart of downtown, the dragon became a fire-breathing beacon of community spirit, successfully honoring the festival's legacy and establishing a new landmark for the city.
