Capital Metro installs 80 accessible bus shelters with Dimensional Innovations

Capital Metro, the public transportation provider for Austin, TX, faced the challenge of installing accessible and sustainable bus shelters for its new Bus Rapid Transit lines. They collaborated with vendor Dimensional Innovations (DI) and its DI Build service to engineer, fabricate, and install a modern solution.

Dimensional Innovations designed and built 80 modular steel shelters that were fully PROWAG compliant for accessibility. A key feature was the integration of solar batteries, with some shelters even transmitting excess energy back to the city's grid. With all materials domestically sourced and Buy-America certified, DI delivered a turnkey solution that promoted efficiency, sustainability, and modernization for the transit system.
