Panalpina Group, a Basel-based provider of global air, ocean and logistics solutions with about 16,000 employees and 500 offices worldwide, relied on frequent board and executive meetings that required up-to-date, comprehensive materials for 25 decision-makers. Preparing and distributing paper-based board packs fell to a team of 10 administrators and could take up to two full business days, creating headaches around last-minute changes, remote distribution and secure disposal of large volumes of paper.

After evaluating vendors, Panalpina implemented Diligent Boards in December 2012 for its comprehensive features and intuitive iPad app. The portal cut document compilation to one or two hours by a single person, enabled rapid updates with instant notifications, and quickly spread to other committees — allowing directors to prep and annotate on the go, eliminating paper waste and making meetings faster and better informed.
