New South Wales Government FACS streamlines operations to reach more people with better services

The New South Wales Department of Family and Community Services (FACS), a 22,000‑person government agency that supports vulnerable people and funds specialist NGOs, faced inefficient and insecure processes for preparing and distributing executive meeting materials. More than 300 directors and staff relied on over 90 separate meeting packs delivered as large PDFs and printed packets, causing version control, security, logistical and administrative overheads.

FACS implemented the Diligent Boards board‑portal to provide a secure, mobile platform with training and 24/7 support; documents are now shared and synced to tablets for remote access. The change consolidated 93 meeting packs for daily use by over 300 users, reduced administrative time and couriering, improved information security and enabled faster, more flexible decision‑making.
