Kingfisher uses portal to achieve uniformity across the board

Kingfisher, Europe’s largest home improvement retail group (brands include B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt and Screwfix), needed a way to standardise and simplify the creation and distribution of board materials across more than 1,000 stores and multiple boards spread across Europe and Asia. Preparing formatted paper packs, accommodating last‑minute changes and securely delivering materials to directors who often serve on several committees was time‑consuming for the Company Secretarial team, so uniformity, strong security and an intuitive solution requiring minimal training were top priorities.

Kingfisher adopted the Diligent Boards portal in October 2011, trained administrators and rolled out login guides for directors; the interface proved intuitive and required little extra support. The portal created a unified, iPad‑friendly format, passed third‑party penetration testing, and cut preparation and distribution time from over half a day per pack to a fraction of that. The solution was expanded to 10 additional committees and B&Q, enabling real‑time remote updates and significantly easing administrative burden.
