A Diligent Case Study
Con Edison, responsible for serving thousands of customers, needed to modernize conflict-of-interest (COI) reporting and mitigation for 15,000 employees to reduce reputational risk and maintain public trust. Their legacy in‑house system met basic recordkeeping needs but was cumbersome for high-volume respondents, lacked historic response access, and offered limited visibility and reporting—prompting a search for a streamlined, enterprise-level solution.
Con Edison selected Diligent’s Conflicts of Interest Management, implementing features like single sign‑on, HR data integration, branching disclosures, automatic reminders, case management, dashboards and historic response retention. The system went live in July 2016, replacing the in‑house tool, improving workflow efficiency, enabling year‑over‑year tracking and comprehensive reporting, and providing ongoing vendor support to strengthen compliance and reduce COI-related risk.
