A Diligent Case Study
The Australian Red Cross, a leading provider of humanitarian aid and community services in Australia, was struggling to move from paper-heavy board packs (more than 500 pages) to a reliable digital process. Its previous portal, BoardLink, was cumbersome, had low user uptake among volunteer board members and offered offshore support that delayed issue resolution, leaving the organisation handling double-processing and resistance to change.
In April 2017 the National Board migrated to Diligent Boards, which delivered a smoother implementation, one‑on‑one training for less tech‑confident members and 24x7 support. The board achieved 100% user uptake, tightened security (print/download disabled, device password protection), enabled real‑time collaboration and cut at least five hours from paper preparation — accelerating meetings and simplifying board workflows.
