Zephyr Real Estate, founded in 1978, is San Francisco’s largest independent real estate firm with 250 agents across seven Bay Area offices and $1.5 billion in annual sales. Growth had left the company relying on seven disparate analog phone systems that caused misrouted calls, poor mobility and maintenance headaches, and made it difficult for the IT team to deliver consistent service across locations.
After a six‑month evaluation, Zephyr deployed Digium’s Asterisk‑based Switchvox UC with Resource Telecom, overhauled the network (separating voice and data and installing Cisco PoE switches), and installed two SMB 305 servers and roughly 220 IP phones. The $150K first‑year implementation delivered unified dialing, simpler web‑based administration, improved call quality and reliability, the ability to add tenants on the same system, and expected ongoing savings of about $45–50K per year (plus PRI line reductions).
