San Francisco Financial Services Company Impressed By Switchvox Flexibility and Cost Savings

Forward Management, a San Francisco–based financial services firm, needed reliable, feature-rich telephony to support 110 employees, 95 phones and 12 analog devices where a missed call could cost tens of thousands of dollars. Their six-year-old Avaya IP400 delivered solid call quality but limited features and high licensing costs; they required user-friendly, enterprise‑level VoIP with sales‑force integration, expanded conferencing and a large switchboard display — and an unexpected lease change compressed their evaluation and deployment window to about 30 days.

TeleDynamic implemented Digium Switchvox (AA355 as primary and AA65 warm spare) with Yealink IP phones, reusing existing IP cabling and adding POE switches to speed installation, completed within the shortened timeframe. The new system is scalable to 400 users, lowered upfront and ongoing licensing/hosting costs (avoiding roughly $60K in proprietary system expenses), added unified messaging, presence and global call logs to reduce missed calls, and delivered positive user feedback while leaving a clear path to a future SIP trunk migration and software upgrade.
