Martin Healthcare Group Improves Patent Experience with New Unified Communications System

Martin Healthcare Group (MHG), a multi‑location healthcare services provider with over 100 staff and hundreds of remote contractors and affiliates, needed to replace a failing 25‑year‑old Toshiba PBX. Their priorities were to preserve a live, personalized patient experience while gaining flexibility, SIP trunking to cut long‑distance costs, remote voicemail/notifications and reliable 24/7 call answering — capabilities the old system couldn’t provide.

MHG implemented Digium’s Asterisk‑based Switchvox, deployed and supported by local provider N2Net, using IVR/call trees that still route callers to live receptionists, SIP trunks, voicemail‑to‑email, mobile features and call queues. The solution delivered in‑house control, lower long‑distance charges, continuous after‑hours coverage, easier administration and a better patient experience, leaving the IT team relieved and satisfied.
