Leon Business Solutions Harnessses Asterisk to Quickly build Call Center

Leon Business Solutions (LBS), a Harare-based consumer finance start-up with operations across Zimbabwe, needed a flexible, low-cost outbound telephony solution to replace cumbersome landlines and to convert analog/digital systems into a VoIP platform that would tightly integrate with their core operations and automatically place calls per customer account.

LBS implemented the open-source Asterisk platform on a primary and backup server, built a VPN fiber link to their provider, and integrated Asterisk with their eXcom core system, payment/processing platform and 3CX clients, provisioning 25 extensions and shared trunks. The result was more than $100,000 in capital savings (plus ongoing licensing savings), lower calling costs, automated dialing and call recording that eliminated customer disputes, and added features like SMS and video.
