Leading Biotechnology Institute Depends On Power of open Source Communication From Digium

Network Services and Support (NSS), a Digium reseller specializing in Asterisk and Switchvox, was chosen to design a state-of-the-art phone system for HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The challenge was to deliver a robust, redundant communications platform that could support multiple tenants on the growing campus while keeping local vendors involved.

NSS implemented an Asterisk-based solution with redundant active/passive call managers, active gateways using Asterisk DUNDi, and redundant MySQL/shared file servers, and standardized on Digium IP phones across new buildings. The deployment delivered clear audio and popular features like visual voicemail, simplified contact management and seamless integration with Asterisk/Switchvox; HudsonAlpha expanded to additional buildings, and NSS has since deployed over 100 systems with ongoing support contracts.
