Kidney Specialists of Minnesota (KSM), a three-location clinic group with 20 physicians and over 80 staff, needed to replace a costly mix of aging analog and digital phone systems while keeping patient-centered, live-person answering during office hours. After a six-month evaluation of major vendors and tight budget constraints, the clinic sought an affordable, expandable solution that would simplify multi-site communications and support future growth.

KSM selected Digium’s Switchvox with support from reseller Ideacom Mid-America, built an MPLS network and deployed a single Switchvox 360 appliance with Digium HD phones. The system enabled enterprise SIP, shared call capacity, 4-digit dialing, seamless transfers and mobile integration for physicians; it lowered telecom costs, eliminated maintenance headaches, and cut administrative changes from days or weeks to minutes while preserving personalized patient contact.
