The Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) faced a significant operational challenge after transitioning to electronic health records, as they were left with a cumbersome hybrid system of paper and digital files. This mix made retrieving patient records difficult and placed a heavy burden on staff. To solve this, MHCD worked with vendor Digitech Systems and their reseller, Imagetek, implementing the PaperVision Capture and PaperVision Enterprise ECM products.

The Digitech Systems solution digitized all remaining paper records and used software robots for Robotic Process Automation to automatically route and file patient information. This eliminated manual handling and created a fully digital system. As a result, MHCD achieved dramatic time savings and improved staff productivity, with the director stating their goal is to never touch paper again. The automation is projected to save the organization $250,000 annually.
