Leading UK Supermarket Chain, one of the oldest and largest grocery retailers in the UK with more than 1,500 stores and expanding digital operations, needed to improve IT uptime and incident handling as its infrastructure grew more complex. Its legacy monitoring approach struggled with false, duplicate, and trivial alerts, heavy manual ticketing, and undetected issues that led to outages, slower resolution times, and disrupted store and online operations. Digitate’s ignio™ AIOps was brought in to modernize monitoring and reduce operational noise.
Digitate customized ignio™ AIOps to de-duplicate alerts, suppress false positives, automatically create and triage incidents, and proactively monitor critical applications and store links. The solution cut time spent on false alerts nearly in half, saved about 22,000 hours annually, improved MTTD by 99% and MTTR by 80%, and eliminated roughly 80% of unwanted noise. For online store links, Digitate’s ignio autonomously resolved outages, improving availability from 89% to 99%, reducing downtime from 75 hours to 7.5 hours per month, resolving 804 incidents autonomously, and saving about $0.5 million in overhead costs.
