Clear Channel International, a global out-of-home advertising leader with half a million sites and roughly 15,000 digital screens, needed to modernise its IT infrastructure to support growing digital services. As part of a technology roadmap, the company required improved redundancy and fast cloud access for cloud bursting, along with 99.999% uptime, rich interconnection, 24/7 security, scalable growth options, a global partner and competitive contract terms.
They selected Digital Realty’s West Drayton data centre for its dense connectivity (19 onsite providers, 25 network partners and internet exchanges), large colocation footprint, N+1 power and cooling redundancy and access to additional London sites for resilience. The move delivered better uptime and network scalability, enabled MPLS connectivity across Europe (via Vodafone) and accelerated Clear Channel’s cloud-first strategy while maintaining robust on‑premise services.
