A Digital Realty Case Study
Cancer Research UK needed to relocate its data centre following an office move and sought a centrally located, secure and cost‑effective colocation partner that could support its ongoing virtualisation programme and provide scalable, flexible capacity. The charity required high resilience and value for money to run mission‑critical systems while consolidating multiple offices into a single site.
Cancer Research UK moved its primary systems—including CRM, finance and Citrix virtual desktops—into Interxion’s City of London data centre, with Interxion managing the migration, out‑of‑hours support and infrastructure changes that doubled power and cooling density. The result was improved connectivity, guaranteed uptime for virtual desktop users, easier project delivery (including VNX storage), and a renewed three‑year contract with a clear path to expand capacity on the same campus.
