Case Study: AT&T achieves a simplified, high-speed global network backbone with Digital Realty

A Digital Realty Case Study

Preview of the AT&T Case Study

AT&T partners with Digital Realty to help a major client renew and simplify their core network with a single global backbone

AT&T partnered with Digital Realty to help a leading multinational financial institution renew and consolidate its global high‑speed network after major acquisitions. The customer needed a carrier‑neutral, geographically broad footprint with high network density, redundant 100 GB connectivity, strict privacy and continuity controls, and a fast rollout — requirements that made building its own facilities impractical.

AT&T managed the engagement and selected Digital Realty’s colocation and metro‑hub facilities to provide redundant 100 GB fiber, Meet‑Me Rooms/POPs, and carrier diversity, delivering a single business interface and pre‑negotiated services. The solution simplified operations, met stringent security and uptime standards (five nines), enabled high‑bandwidth connections to clouds and data centers, and resulted in deployments across key U.S. sites with U.S. rollouts expected to be live in 2018.
