Agile Colocation Solutions Prepare For Global Growth

Sentinel Technologies, founded in 1982, is a U.S. IT services and solutions provider that built CloudSelect®, a Cisco-powered public IaaS cloud to support growing networking and enterprise offerings. Facing plans for global expansion, Sentinel found its mix of in-house and outsourced colocation lacked the footprint, bandwidth, physical security and fiber connectivity needed for resilient, redundant cloud services.

Sentinel chose Digital Realty colocation in four sites (three in Chicago, one in St. Louis) and used DIGITAL GlobalConnect to enable diverse, redundant connectivity, moving critical workloads to Digital Realty’s Federal Street facility and leveraging Cermak’s extensive carrier access and lower-cost bandwidth. The partnership gave Sentinel access to 300+ carriers, low-latency links, aggregated network access, SOC 2–examined sites, remote-hands and global reach, greater agility in power and disaster recovery, room to expand and consistent service with better than “five nines” (99.999%) uptime.
