King’s College London extends mindfulness support across 8-week programme with Digital Marmalade

King’s College London required a digital solution to extend its Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programme for adolescents and their carers beyond the classroom. The challenge for vendor Digital Marmalade was to translate the successful in-person course into an engaging mobile app that would resonate with both teenagers and adults, support different user journeys, and maintain engagement.

Digital Marmalade developed separate but complementary iOS and Android applications featuring guided meditations, bespoke illustrations, and push notifications. The solution successfully bridged the gap between therapy sessions and independent practice, enhancing the programme's effectiveness. The app became an integral pocket companion for mindfulness, making mental health support more accessible and engaging for its users.
