SAP partnered with Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) to strengthen digital capabilities across its marketing organization as part of a broader digital transformation. The company needed to assess existing skill levels, close gaps, build a stronger digital mindset, reduce reliance on agencies, and futureproof employees with external certification and leadership development.

DMI used its Digital Diagnostic and Pro/Specialist certifications to assess and train more than 300 SAP employees, supported by self-paced learning, executive sponsorship, webinars, office hours, and internal champions. The program delivered a 52% average increase in overall team scores, with digital strategy rising by 132% and improvements of 4% to 135% across subject areas, while also shifting the learning culture toward more strategic digital conversations.
