Case Study: Auth0 achieves secure Daml infrastructure with Digital Asset

A Digital Asset Case Study

Preview of the Auth0 Case Study

Auth0 secures Daml infrastructure with Digital Asset’s 2-tier PKI and 20-year root CA

Auth0, an identity management platform, required a secure infrastructure for its distributed application ledger built with Daml. Their challenge was implementing robust authentication and authorization at the infrastructure level to control access and secure connections between all client and server components, moving beyond just end-user security.

Digital Asset implemented a solution using a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for mutual TLS authentication and JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) for authorization. They provided a reference application that set up a self-signed CA hierarchy to issue certificates, enabling secure TLS connections for all services like the PostgreSQL database and the Daml ledger server. This ensured all processes could securely authenticate, forming a critical foundation for Auth0's production deployment.
