Source Audio, a B2B music technology platform, faced the challenge of tracking music usage and licensing across many distribution channels, where manual cue sheets and traditional audio fingerprinting often missed short cues, false-matched samples, and struggled with noise. To solve this, Source Audio partnered with Digimarc and used its digital code technology in SourceAudio Detect, a music monitoring and reporting solution.

With Digimarc embedded inaudibly into uploaded tracks, Source Audio was able to identify even very short clips accurately without affecting audio quality. The solution is on track to monitor more than 150 national broadcast and cable channels plus about 100 local stations, helping improve royalty reporting, cue sheet processing, and catalog-to-database integration for more precise and reliable music usage data.
