The City of Tampere processes 700+ library card applications with Digia

The City of Tampere sought to shorten customer service queues and increase efficiency at its PIKI libraries by digitizing the library card application process. The city partnered with vendor Digia to implement a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution to handle the high volume of electronic applications.

Digia provided a software robot named Korbot to automatically process applications by transferring data from an e-form into the customer information system and notifying applicants via text message. This solution from Digia saved significant staff time, processing over 700 applications and saving an estimated 58-81 working hours. This freed library staff from routine tasks to focus on customer advising and also helped centralize error identification.
