By implementing Digi International's ZigBee-based modules, winAMR created a network where a single data concentrator handles communication, eliminating the need for a SIM card in every meter. This resulted in massive cost savings, reducing monthly charges from 70,000 rupees to 2,300 rupees per 1000 meters, saving 40.62 lakh rupees over five years per 1000 meters. The Digi solution also improved data communication accuracy and provided a more robust, integrable platform for their smart metering offerings.
