Case Study: Olsbergs makes construction sites safer with Digi XBee 868 Low-Power RF

A Digi International Case Study

Preview of the Olsbergs Case Study

Olsbergs makes crane operations 70% safer and more efficient with Digi

Olsbergs, a company in the construction industry, faced the challenge of meeting strict European ETSI radio communication standards to improve safety and efficiency for crane operators. They needed a highly precise and risk-free radio module to develop a remote-controlled hydraulic system that could operate safely in populated areas. They partnered with vendor Digi International to find a solution.

Digi International provided the Digi XBee 868 Low-Power RF module, which met the rigorous ETSI standards by utilizing the entire ISM band and featuring Listen Before Talk (LBT) and Automatic Frequency Adaptation (AFA). This solution allowed Olsbergs to guarantee the safety, accuracy, and reliability of their radio controls. The results made construction sites safer and more cost-efficient, as jobs that previously required two operators now only require one, saving both time and money.
