IGT deploys 10,000 lottery terminals in Mexico and South Africa with Digi

IGT, a global gaming and lottery systems provider, faced the challenge of rapidly deploying 10,000 point-of-sale lottery terminals in both Mexico and South Africa. The demanding schedules and, in some areas, remote locations with limited infrastructure required a highly reliable and simple-to-install wireless communications network to connect terminals to their host systems. Partnering with Digi International, IGT sought a robust solution to meet tight deadlines and strict performance requirements.

Digi International implemented its Digi TransPort cellular routers, providing a pre-configured, turnkey wireless solution. This allowed IGT to deploy terminals rapidly without relying on local telephone lines, simplifying installation in extreme and remote conditions. The result was a successful, rapid deployment in both countries, with Digi's reliability and the engineer-to-engineer partnership credited as key reasons for success. The solution gave IGT significant control over deployments and helped them meet their tight commitments to customers.
