Case Study: IER (Bolloré Group subsidiary) achieves rapid, cost‑effective 100% electric vehicle deployment at COP21 with Digi International's ConnectCore 6

A Digi International Case Study

Preview of the IER Case Study

IER Shares 100% Electric Vehicles During COP21

IER, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group, designs intelligent, connected electric-vehicle solutions and charging infrastructure for public transit, car sharing and private customers. Faced with a tight timeline for showcasing electric buses and chargers at COP21, IER needed a modular electronics approach — a single base controller board that could serve both vehicle telemetry boxes and charger station controllers to speed development and deployment.

IER adopted the Digi ConnectCore 6 system-on-module as the common heart of its vehicles and charging stations, providing Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and other communications, a compact SMT design for easy production, and pre‑certified radios for faster certification. This modular solution cut costs, accelerated time-to-market, and supported public demonstrations of Bluebus vehicles (including a 12‑meter model) that helped advance plans for electric bus adoption in Île-de-France and positioned IER for future growth.
