IER launches 100% electric vehicles with Digi International

IER, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group, faced a timing-sensitive challenge requiring a modular approach for their electric vehicle and charging infrastructure. They needed a single base controller board that could be used for both the telemetry boxes in vehicles and the charger station controllers. To meet this challenge, IER utilized the Digi ConnectCore® 6 system-on-module from Digi International.

Digi International's solution provided the core communication for IER's new generation of electric buses and charging stations. The Digi ConnectCore 6 SOM, with its pre-certified Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 radios, enabled easy integration and fast certification of the final product. This allowed IER to quickly reduce costs on their system and helped position the company for future growth, successfully deploying their 100% electric Bluebuses for events like COP21 and subsequent integration into public transit.
