A Digi International Case Study
Frazer-Nash, an electric powertrain developer and manufacturer of the zero-emissions-capable Metrocab taxi, faced significant challenges in developing a reliable, onboard computer system for their vehicle's digital displays. Building their own embedded solution proved too costly and complex, leading to reliability issues and memory corruption problems. They turned to Digi International for a solution.
Digi International implemented its Digi ConnectCore 6 System on Module (Digi CC6) to power the Metrocab's driver instrumentation and passenger infotainment displays. This solution provided the needed reliability and advanced capabilities while dramatically accelerating development. The measurable impact was substantial: development costs dropped from an estimated £200,000 to £1,500, and the software development cycle increased from about one project per year to around fifteen, saving significant time and money while enabling an unparalleled digital experience for both drivers and passengers.
