Draganfly extends drone control range with Digi XBee-PRO 900HP

Draganfly, a drone manufacturer, needed to equip its units with advanced point-to-point communication for remote wireless control to achieve expanded capabilities and a longer range of controlled flight. To meet this challenge, Draganfly partnered with vendor Digi International and selected the Digi XBee-PRO® 900HP RF module for its drones.

Digi International's solution provided a wireless module that communicates over the 900 MHz band, offering a signal less affected by obstacles and enabling greater distance control. This technology has been instrumental in Draganfly's systems assisting public safety agencies with operations like search and rescue, with one drone model becoming the first recorded civilian sUAS credited with saving a life.
