Digi TransPort Connects Thousands of Point of Sale Terminals Across Switzerland

Société de la Loterie de la Suisse Romande (LoRo) runs lottery games and sports betting across the six cantons of French‑speaking Switzerland and operates more than 2,600 customer shops and point‑of‑sale terminals. Faced with slow, cabling‑heavy fixed‑line deployments, LoRo needed a fast, secure and reliable way to spin up new shops and change terminal content to support shifting locations and new customer applications.

LoRo deployed more than 1,000 preconfigured Digi TransPort WR21 LTE routers in a matter of weeks, enabling instant activation of new PoS sites and over‑the‑air updates. The cellular solution eliminated complex cable infrastructure, reduced installation costs and deployment time from weeks to minutes, and allowed LoRo to rapidly roll out applications to maintain revenue and customer engagement.
