Digi ConnectCore 6 Helps Prolec Improve Safety and Usability of Construction Equipment

Prolec, part of the James Fisher and Sons Group with 30 years’ experience in machine productivity and safety systems, needed a way to automate and simplify site surveys and monitoring to improve safety and reduce rework on construction equipment. To address this, Prolec developed the PME2D and PME500 machine control solutions—mountable devices that monitor movements, loads, height and stability, provide alarms, and give operators 2D/3D visibility for safer, more efficient excavation and lifting.

Prolec based the PME family on the Digi ConnectCore 6 system-on-module (NXP i.MX6), which sped development, reduced design risk, and provided Windows CE integration and enough graphics and processing power to run 2D/3D displays. The result is a scalable, pin-compatible product line that improves user experience and accuracy—offering quick grade control, preset profiles to avoid under/over cutting, simplified slope and profile editing, and measurable savings in time, materials, and rework.
