A Diebold Nixdorf Case Study
Sparkasse Gütersloh-Rietberg, one of the largest financial institutions in the Gütersloh-Rietberg region, faced high cash-handling costs at its busy Harsewinkel branch. Heavy daily cash deposits from local businesses led to frequent ATM replenishment needs, requiring a transit security team to visit the branch five days a week. The bank worked with Diebold Nixdorf and its cash cycle management solutions, alongside cash recyclers and ATMs, to reduce these costly cash-in-transit trips.
Diebold Nixdorf implemented an optimized in-branch cash cycle using intelligent cassettes, software recommendations, and Professional Services integration. The solution reduced security transport visits from five to two or three per week and cut process costs by more than 30%, while also improving cash availability and eliminating accounting differences between physical cash counts and booked balances.
