Intesa Sanpaolo Fast-Tracks its Digital Transformation with the Diamanti Enterprise Kubernetes® Platform

Intesa Sanpaolo, the leading banking group in Italy, launched a strategy to move from monolithic systems to microservices and Kubernetes but found its legacy virtualization infrastructure hindered container deployments, multi‑zone/multi‑site clustering, and management of thousands of in‑house applications. To address these challenges the bank evaluated and adopted Diamanti’s purpose‑built, full‑stack Enterprise Kubernetes platform (bare‑metal) to provide high‑performance storage, network virtualization and QoS while remaining compatible with cloud environments.

Diamanti implemented a bare‑metal Kubernetes solution that simplified deployments, enabled easy multi‑zone/multi‑site clustering with data replication, and provided QoS for mixed‑criticality workloads. As a result Intesa Sanpaolo now runs 3,000+ applications in a metro‑cluster with DR at distant sites, more than 120 services in production under the new microservices model (including two of the bank’s top 10 critical apps), and has cut release cycles from months to weeks while improving scalability, density, availability and operational simplicity.
