Case Study: IDC validates 27–33x higher MongoDB throughput with Diamanti

IDC conducted a lab validation to address a common enterprise challenge: making Kubernetes easy to deploy and manage for stateful, I/O‑intensive databases like MongoDB. The evaluation focused on the Diamanti platform (including D20 nodes and Diamanti Spektra software) as a turnkey, integrated hardware‑and‑software solution to provide persistent NVMe storage, accelerated networking, and simplified Kubernetes operations.

Diamanti deployed its integrated platform to run MongoDB clusters under Kubernetes and used MongoDB Cloud Manager/Atlas for hybrid management; IDC measured dramatically higher and more consistent database performance on Diamanti versus the MongoDB Atlas public cloud. The Diamanti solution delivered roughly 27.7x–30.8x higher throughput on small instances and 32.6x–33.3x higher throughput on large instances (YCSB benchmark), along with lower variability in latency, while enabling simpler on‑premises management and hybrid deployment options.
